Conclusion of the Language Immersion Program in Cambodia, held under the “Qafila” initiative supported by ICESCO

The Language Immersion Program for students and teachers in the Kingdom of Cambodia has come to a close, implemented under the “Qafila” initiative funded by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), and carried out by Global Language Village and MS Asia for Educational Services and Human Development in Malaysia, with kind hosting from the Union of Educational Institutions in Cambodia.
A total of 33 students and 48 teachers from various provinces across Cambodia took part in the program, receiving specialized training based on immersion methodology and modern approaches in teaching Arabic as a foreign language. The program aimed to enhance participants’ linguistic and pedagogical skills, and to empower them to apply these skills within their educational environments.
The program resulted in significant outcomes, including the improvement of participants’ Arabic language proficiency and communication abilities, in addition to preparing a core group of qualified teachers capable of promoting Arabic within their institutions using interactive and innovative teaching techniques.
This program comes as part of MS Asia’s ongoing efforts to support Arabic language education in Southeast Asia and to strengthen educational collaboration among institutions in the region. It reflects a continued commitment to initiatives that combine linguistic development, cultural exchange, and human capacity-building, in alignment with ICESCO’s mission to promote Arab-Islamic culture and foster cross-cultural understanding.
